These small full wells grips are now known as the popular ‘Snub Nose’ or ‘Mini Wells’.

Fashioned after some of the small delicate bamboo rods of the past, this grip is a perfect fit for this Steffen 7’6″ 4wt rod that we built 25 years ago. Don’t assume that the full wells grips are only for large saltwater rods. These mini full wells are very versatile and comfortable for most hands.

This rod has landed it’s share of small trout throughout the years and is still going strong. It’s my go to rod for small mountain streams and even some larger waters.

The fish pictured was captured this past weekend on a private ranch in southern Colorado, known for it’s brook, rainbow, brown and Rio Grande cutthroat. A great place to catch a Trout Grand Slam.
